Administration of the programs

All functions for the administration of the programs are to be found in the 'Program administration' module.

You will find the functions to 'copy', 'rename' and 'erase' programs in the 'Edit' menu, in the pop-up menu and in the symbol bar.
Programs with 'Production' status cannot be erased!

In the 'Program info' you get a list with all available information about the program.
The 'Memo' function is available for making a short note on a program or for information on who created the program, and has a length of 80 characters.
Every program has a 'Description page' . The size of the page depends on the control system of the source machine, because the page is integrated in the program and can be displayed on the machine after transmitting the program. Here you can deposit information and instructions for the person setting up the machine which will help him to use the program optimally.
If you require further information on the contents of the program you can have a look at up to 10 screen panels of the machine, providing you have input the respective screen numbers in the master data for machines.

'Master data' -> 'Maschines' -> 'Configure screen pages':

For each machine you can configure which screen pages are to be transferred with the program to the ALS in the Master data. Access the 'Machine list' via 'Master data'  -> 'Machines'. With this icon you call up the dialog 'Configure screen pages'. To search for a page, input a word in the input field over the 'Search' button.

'Production status'

In order for a program with the order data to be transmitted to a machine or be requested by a machine, it must have the status of 'Production'.

To change the status, select a program and activate the 'Production status' key.

Select the required status for the program in the dialog which is now displayed.

If you assign the status of 'Production' to a program which already exists with this status, i.e. it has the same designation for the machine/mould combination, this program will automatically receive the status of 'Archive'!

Locking/unlocking a program

If you want to inhibit the transmission of a program to a machine,  select it with a left mouse click and open the pop-up menu with a right mouse click. Here you will find the 'Lock/unlock' function. You can also click on the respective button to activate the function.

In the 'Lock' column of the list your user name appears so that it is known who locked the program, because only this user can unlock it again.

Creating a program diskette

For some machine types it is possible to create a program diskette from which you can load the programs directly onto the machine  If you want to 'copy' several machine programs onto a diskette, this can be done consecutively.

Checking/comparing program parameters (optional)

In 'Machine programs' which originate from ARBURG machines with SELOGICA control system it is possible to display values in a list for a selection of parameters. The programs contain only nominal values and tolerances and no information such as parameter designation, unit or the permissible value range. This means that the missing information is added in the ALS system, as far as possible.

Select a program and start the function 'Parameter list'. The values are displayed for a pre-defined number of parameters. You can search for terms in the list. The data can be exported in CSV format.
If you select two programs and start the function 'Compare parameters', the parameters of both programs are arranged opposite each other in a list. Parameters with the same values and those with unlike values are marked as congruent or incongruent parameters.

It is possible to display either “congruent” or “incongruent” or “congruent and incongruent” parameters.
