MCU    Multiple Control Units - Program for multi-colour machine with multiple control systems. Each control system of this machine has its own program. These programs are managed by the ALS as one program. When renaming, displaying and comparing parameters, access to 'sub-programs' is enabled.
Category describes the category of the controller to which the program belongs. (see below)
Compat. Compatibility -> differentiates between controller categories.
The ALS permits software programs of the same controller category to be transferred between compatible machines or from a lower compatibility category to a higher one.
-- The machines can be grouped for example according to their 'tie-bar clearance' and the compatibility selected manually. A machine with a clearance between tie-bars of 270 mm would have a compatibility classification of '270'. As a result of these varying compatibility classifications a program can for example originate from a machine size 270 and be transferred to a machine size 370 but not vice versa.  This is purposeful because, for example, a mould which fits on a machine with a tie-bar clearance of 270 mm can also be installed on a larger machine. (-> Tutorial)
Screen shots The symbol indicates the availability of screen shots which have been transferred to the host processor together with the program.
Machine Designation of the machine to which the program belongs.
Machine model Model of the machine.
Controller Designation of the machine controller.

Programs for which screen pages have been saved are marked in the  'Screen pages column. marks programs, which are blocked for transfer to the machine.

Only programs with the status 'Production program' can be called up from the machine. When order data are transmitted from the ALS to a machine the associated program must also have this status.

The 'Class' of a program tells you to which machines and control type the program belongs.

 Rename program

 Transfer program to machine

 Change production status

 Lock program against transfer

Change mould/material designation. If the mould or the material designation specified in the programme is not correct, you can change it here.

Save program - the selected program can be saved for example on a diskette. This diskette can also be imported from the machines. This function is available on all ARBURG ALLROUNDERs with  SELOGICA controller version 3.060 and later.

Import program from data carrier - programs on machine diskettes are imported if they were created on ARBURG ALLROUNDER s with SELOGICA controller from version 3.060 upwards.

Program info: a list with all available data is displayed. The program info can be printed out by right-clicking into the list and opening the 'Print' dialog. Before printing, the column width should be adjusted so that you can see all the values. Save your changes with the function 'Module -> save settings'.

 Display monitor panels

'Parameter list' values are displayed from the program which has been selected from the 'program' list.

Two programs of the ARBURG SELOGICA controller from the list of programs are compared.

Parameter overview in Microsoft Office Excel® - the most important data are extracted from the machine program and output in a table titled 'Parameter overview'. You can add more 'Key data' by taking it over from the reference data. You can also enter them manually if no reference data have been drawn up. If you want to keep your manual changes save the excel file on your file server and link it to the program via the 'Document administration'.

The requirement for this is that the function "f4004 reference acquisition" must be activated on the machine in the "Quality control" dialogue. Otherwise you can also enter the reference values manually, if no reference data have been drawn up. If you want to keep your manual changes save the excel file on your file server and link it to the program via the 'Document administration'.

Functionality of the program administration

The functions of the program administration can in part be applied to several programs at the same time. If you have selected several programs, only these functions are displayed as active.

Copy

An existing program is copied and saved with new creation date and program designation. If you change the machine in the input mask too, it must be a machine with the same program 'class' as the program to be copied.

Programs from the machine types 'ARBURG ALLROUNDER H', '170 CMD' and '305 ECO' can not be copied because the changed program numbers are not accepted by the control systems.

Rename

You can give a program a new designation. The new program designation must not contain a blank , '_' or ':'.

It is not possible to rename programs on machines of the type 'ARBURG ALLROUNDER 170 CMD' and '305 ECO'.

Erase

The selected program(s) are erased.

Load onto machine

The selected program is transferred to a machine selected in the dialog displayed below.

If the machine is in a state in which it is possible for the ALS to send it a program, you will receive a positive message when the program has been successfully transferred. On machines with two program levels the program is always accepted into the preparation level.

If a negative message is displayed, this can have several causes:

Production status

A program can be either be a production, special or archive program. Only one program per machine and program designation can have the status 'Production program'. Only programs with this status can be called up from the machines. When an order is transferred to a machine only production programs are sent with it to the machine.

Lock/unlock

A locked program cannot be transferred to a machine. Programs which belong to an order in a waiting queue and for which there is no substitute program cannot be locked.

Memo

Freely editable ALS-internal information of max. 40 characters on the selected program. 5 additional info boxes are also available.

Description

Each program has a description text which (depending on controller type) is transferred to the machine together with the program and displayed there. The description text is freely editable.

Screen panels

Up to 10 monitor pages of the machine controller can be archived in the ALS together with the program. In this way the most important parameters of the program can be displayed. The condition for this is that the pages are transferred with the program that you previously configured in the master data for the selected machine.

Configuration of screen panels

In order for up to 10 screen panels to be transferred to ALS together with the set-up data set, you must input for each machine which pages are to be transferred. Complications can arise when selecting the pages because the page numbering depends upon the controller version. You therefore have the possibility of inputting the controller version of the selected machine in the dialog 'configure screen panels'. You can input a word or term in the input box via the 'Search' and 'Continue search' buttons, to search for a panel. You administrate the range of the 'selected screen panels' with the arrow buttons.

Save/import program

On ARBURG ALLROUNDERs with SELOGICA controller version 3.060 and later it is possible to create Program diskettes from which you import programs to the machine direct. If you want to save several machines programs on one diskette you can do this consecutively.

With the function 'Import program' you take programs over from machine diskettes which were created on ARBURG ALLROUNDERs with SELOGICA controller version 3.060 and later. The imported programmes must be assigned to a machine configured in ALS.

Compact flash cards are supported for ARBURG ALLROUNDERs with 'SELOGICA 'direct' controller.

Update line

The selected line(s) are requested from the database and the updated level shown.

Parameter list (optional function)

In the 'Parameter list' values are displayed from the program which has been selected from the 'program' list. In the heading you see the program designation and the date of creation.

Parameters which are not contained in the program are marked with '#NOT AVAILABLE'.

Here you can display the information stored in ALS on the selected program.

A search function for text is available in the dialog. All lines in the list, which contain the term you have input are marked.

The displayed list can be exported in 'CSV' format. Input a directory and a file name. The file can be opened for example with 'MS Excel' and processed.

Transfer parameters to Microsoft Excel - the displayed table is displayed in MS Excel and can be edited there.

As in all lists in the ALS, you can also save the changes you have made to the appearance of the list.

With this icon you initiate the printing dialog.

Parameter comparison (optional function)

Select two programs of the ARBURG SELOGICA controller from the list of programs for comparison. ('Ctrl' + 'left mouse key'). If you have selected more than two programs in the list, the first two will be compared.

With this button, information on the selected programs which has been stored in the ALS system can be displayed.

In the dialog group "displays" you select whether congruent or incongruent or both types of values are to be displayed. Parameters with the same values are marked with '=', and parameters with different values are marked with '<>'.

A full text search function is available in the dialog. All lines in the list which contain the word/term you input in the search box are marked.

Here you can save all your changes in the display, as in all lists in the ALS system.

Transfer parameters to Microsoft Excel - the selected table is displayed in MS Excel and can be edited there.

With this icon you start the print dialog.
