In the 'ARBURG host processor system' Client you gain access to the functions and data of the system. The Client comprises the following 'modules':
After starting the 'Client' you can log on or close the Client again.
To gain access to the modules it is necessary to log on. Which modules are available to you depends on your user authorization. You will find the 'Change password' function in the 'File' menu.
The Client symbols have the following meanings:
Close ALS Client.
User Log off. - Please log off when you leave your place of work, so that
the system is protected from unauthorized access.
The Client user interface is locked. Access is regained by inputting user and password.
Display of module in individual window.
System log book – Here events in ALS such
as “System updated” or “End system and restart” are administrated.
Start modul automatically with log-on.
Call up help
The menu bar offers you the same functions as are available with the icons.
An additional function is the 'Window' menu. The functions 'Arrange all', 'Minimise all' and 'Close all'
refer to all windows which have been started from the modules.
In this way you can display the 'Machine status' for each machine in the machine hall. The functions in the 'Window' menu are effective in all windows in which the
statuses are displayed.
The available modules are displayed in the left column of the Client. If the name of a module is displayed in grey instead of black bold type, you have no access authorization for this module. It can also mean however that the program on which
this module is based has not been started.
A tick in the coloured flag symbol next to the name of the module indicates that the module has been started.
Click on the flag with the right mouse key to start the module in its own window.
You can close the module column so far that only the flag is visible.
The active module is displayed to the right of the 'module-column'. Click on the flag in the module column to bring the associated module 'forward'. Further menus are added to the menu bar in the Client, depending on the module.
With the Icon 'Display module in individual window' you can separate a module from the Client frame and
display it in its own window.
In the lower part of the module column you will find the yellow, multi-dimensional ‘Clipboard’, in which you can store texts and figures from lists
by the drag-and-drop method of marking and holding them with the left mouse key and drawing them into the clipboard. Texts, which you have copied with 'Ctrl+C' function into the 'Windows' clipboard
can also be deposited into the ALS clipboard by clicking on a free area in the ALS clipboard with the right mouse key and inserting the contents of the Windows clipboard
into it with the 'insert from clipboard' function. Vice versa, you can take data from the ALS clipboard by clicking on it with the right mouse key and copying it into the 'Windows'-clipboard.
You can also drag and drop the texts from the ALS clipboard into the input boxes of dialogs by marking and holding them with the left mouse key.
With the “Trash can” symbol you can delete an entry in the file.
In the “View” menu you will find the function for hiding the “file” from the display. With 'Module' -> 'Save settings' you can save your preferred view.
The dialogs in ALS are equipped with a semi-transparent icon with which you can open
the clipboard to use it. You can take texts out of the clipboard or drag them from the dialog into the clipboard.
The progress bar at the bottom left of the Client frame indicates that further data are being loaded for the display of the active module.
The most recent activities are displayed in the drop-down list at the bottom right of the Client frame.
You can display the Help text of the Client by pressing the 'F1' key or clicking on the 'Help' symbol in the ALS Client.
